Chang-la pass is another most beautiful place which is around 150km away from Leh and being located at a height of 5425m above sea level offers a spectacular view of the great snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas.
Apart from these natural wonders the numerous Buddhist monasteries and Gompas in his area also provide the tourists with a glimpse of one of the most anccient religious tradition of the world and the Namgyal Tsemo Gompa, the Soma Gompa and the Shanti Stupa are wonderful specimen of one of the most ancient religious cultures of the world. But one must also remember that most of these monasteries and Gompas are kept open for public only for a limited period of time every day.
